The Q/F96D-BMΩ Dual-Channel AC Power Grid Insulation Resistance Monitor is an instrument designed to monitor and provide alarms regarding poor grounding conditions within a ship's AC power grid. This instrument continuously monitors the insulation resistance between the ship's hull and the electrical circuits within ungrounded AC power distribution systems operating at voltages below 500V. It issues audible and visual alarm signals whenever the power grid's insulation resistance becomes abnormal—specifically, when the resistance drops below the alarm threshold value configured on the instrument. The effective measurement range of this instrument is 0.005 to 5 MΩ. It features five selectable alarm threshold settings: 50 kΩ, 200 kΩ, 300 kΩ, 500 kΩ, and 1000 kΩ; other specific alarm values ​​may also be configured upon request. (Manufactured by Anhang Electric). It issues audible and visual alarm signals whenever an anomaly occurs in the grid's insulation resistance—specifically, when the resistance drops below the alarm threshold value configured on the instrument.

The output capacity for external alarm signals is rated at DC 24V/3A or AC 220V/1A. The unit provides dual-channel alarm signal outputs.

Once properly wired, switch on the power supply; the power indicator light will illuminate, signifying that the instrument has entered monitoring mode. The position of the pointer on the dial indicates the current insulation resistance value of the power grid.
The alarm threshold can be configured as needed by adjusting the red setting pointer to the desired resistance value. If the power grid's insulation resistance drops below this configured threshold, the instrument will output an alarm signal, and the corresponding alarm indicator light will illuminate. Once the insulation resistance returns to a normal level, the instrument will automatically exit the alarm state.
Within a single power grid, it is strictly prohibited to operate two or more insulation monitors (or other similar instruments) simultaneously to measure the insulation resistance of the same network.
To verify whether the instrument is functioning correctly, a self-test procedure may be performed. Upon completion of the self-test, it is mandatory to return the instrument to its normal operating mode. Note: This meter measures a range of 0–5 MΩ, with a rated operating voltage of AC 220V.
