Instructions for Use

1. Phase Sequence Indication: When three-phase voltage is connected, the indicator cursor will rotate. Clockwise rotation indicates a positive phase sequence. The cursor will not move when a phase is missing.

2. Phase Sequence Monitoring: When three-phase voltage is connected, if the phase sequence is positive, the positive sequence relay will activate after a 5-second delay, and the green LED will light up. If the phase sequence is reversed, the reverse sequence relay will activate after a 5-second delay (this relay is not available on the F96/72-PSB model), and the red LED will light up. The two relays have an electrical interlock function, meaning that only one relay will operate at any given time in a non-phase-loss state.

3. Phase Loss Protection: In the event of a phase loss, the previously activated relay will release after approximately an 8-second delay, the contacts will return to their original position, and the corresponding LED will turn off. If power is restored to a phase that was previously disconnected within the 8-second delay, the previously activated relay will not release. If power is restored to a phase that was previously disconnected after the 8-second delay, the relay will reactivate after approximately a 1-second delay.

4. The F96/72-PSB is generally used for protecting electrical equipment that only allows three-phase positive sequence power supply. When the phase sequence is correct, the positive sequence relay activates, controlling the undervoltage release of contactors and main switches to supply power to the equipment. In case of a phase loss, it can also cut off the power supply to the equipment, providing protection. The F96/72-PSB can be used in shore power boxes, main distribution boards, shore voltage stabilizers, and motor control equipment. Figure 8.4 shows the schematic diagram of the shore power box phase sequence protection.

5. The F96/72-PSB is also used for phase sequence conversion of the connected three-phase voltage. When the phase sequence is correct, the positive sequence relay activates, activating positive sequence electrical appliances such as contactors and the undervoltage release of main switches. When the phase sequence is reversed, the reverse sequence relay activates, symmetrically activating reverse sequence electrical appliances; changing the phase sequence of the input voltage while still providing positive sequence voltage to the equipment, thus achieving automatic phase sequence conversion. The F96/72-PSB can be used for shore power boxes with automatic phase sequence switching, shore power voltage regulators, and other equipment that requires automatic phase sequence switching. Figure 8.5 shows the schematic diagram of an automatic phase sequence switching shore power box.
