Instructions for Use

1. Connect the power supply to the rated voltage. The green indicator light will illuminate, indicating the instrument is in testing mode. The pointer reading is the mains insulation resistance value (except in self-test mode).

2. When the instrument is operating, the alarm setting switch should be set to the selected alarm value. There are seven alarm levels: 10Ω, 30Ω, 60Ω, 100Ω, 200Ω, 500Ω, and 1kΩ.

3. To determine if the instrument is functioning correctly, a self-test can be performed: Set the switch on the back of the instrument to the self-test position. The instrument will then perform a self-test. When the instrument functions normally, the pointer should indicate 10Ω, the red alarm light should illuminate, and there should be an output at the alarm output terminal. After the self-test is complete, the instrument must be returned to its normal alarm setting.

4. When connected to shore power, because the shore power system is a grounded system, the instrument may issue a false alarm. In this case, the switch can be set to the "shore power" position; the instrument will indicate a value less than 10Ω, but the normally open and normally closed contacts will not change position, and there will be no alarm output.

5. For special-purpose instruments, please add "J" to the beginning of the model number (***limited to 240° instruments), such as F96J-BmΩ.

This instrument must not be used simultaneously with other insulation resistance meters on the same network.
